Debreuil just posted a github project to control MCP4921 DAC chips with VHDL on the Papilio. I need to access DAC8775 which is from Texas Instrument, This DAC accepts data through SPI protocol, and resolution is of 16 bits, There are certain number of registers present in DAC which I need to configure by sending data using SPI protocol, I need vhdl code which can establish connection between FPGA and DAC8775. Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) is a synchronous serial data protocol used for communication between digital circuits.Therefore with SPI interface FPGAs or microcontrollers can communicate with peripheral devices, sensors and also other FPGAs and microcontrollers quickly over short distances. Most simulators do not use VHDL-2008 by default but provide a command line argument or configuration option to enable it. This feature was added in VHDL-2008 so it should be supported by all tools that already have VHDL-2008 support (including ActiveHDL I think).
